  • You're not going to find us popping up on any old corner. We stalk every neighborhood we're interested in and get the low-down before we make our move. We have to make sure we love it (and that there are great places to eat. We do so like to eat). So far, so good, from the tony enclave of Brentwood, California to the retail mecca of Madison Ave, NYC. Here's a look at the wonderful Velvet neighborhoods to date...
  • Brentwood Flagship / Los Angeles

Brentwood is the place to see and be seen. It's upscale, it's glam and it's lovely. We're right next door to the Brentwood Country Mart, a historical landmark from 1948 (that's historical in LA!). It still has it's original barn-like design and is home to a carefully curated cluster of retail and restaurants. It's away from the tourist traps, so the resident celebrities can stop by
    and go about their business.
13020 San Vicente Blvd, LA, CA 90049.

    After Shop Stops:

Pressed Juicery - LA is famous for juicing.
This is the place to get your juice on.
Cafe Luxxe - for when your brain needs a boost.
Get a shot of the best espresso on the west side.
Farmshop - locally sourced Californian inspired food from a chef who previously worked at French Laundry and El Bulli. Enough said.
  • Abbot Kinney / Los Angeles

Venice is the laid-back epicenter of the city. Abbot Kinney Blvd, the main arterial street, has gorgeous style stars, all your favorite retail destinations next to amazing restaurants and surfers. Lots of surfers. There's a beautiful hippie luxe vibe to the neighborhood, an easy tempo reflected in the warm sea breeze that fills the streets. It's chock a block full of eclectic and iconic architecture and the people are wonderfully eccentric. A truly one-off place, Abbot Kinney was the no-brainer location for our second store.
1327 Abbot Kinney Blvd, LA, CA 90291.

    Where we go:

Gjusta - an artisinal bakery perfect for brunch and people spotting.
The Ginger Honey Tea is epic. Yes, a tea is epic.
Intelligentsia - because their coffee is the best coffee to have
in your hand while you window shop.
The Tasting Kitchen - the perfect reflection of the neighborhood,
this is an unusual, creative, bustling place to eat with mean cocktails to boot.

  • Platform at Culver City

Culver City is the up-and-coming neighborhood of LA, full of art galleries, top notch eateries and it's only a hop, skip and a jump to the Pacific Ocean. Our design HQ is located here so when we spotted PLATFORM, a high end shopping experience being built we were thrilled to be a part of it (you will too).
8840 Washington Blvd Culver City, CA 90232.

    Take a break:

Bluebottle Coffee - Bluebottle Coffee has a cult following and for good reason, it's quite simply the best coffee in town. Caffeine up before you hit the shops.
The Cannibal - The place to come when you're craving refreshment. The food and decor is a right treat.
Van Leeuwen Ice-cream - Hand-made using only natural ingredients, it would be rude not to stop and have a scoop.
  • LIDO MARINA VILLAGE

Lido Marina Village is a sight for sore eyes. Located in SoCal's beautiful Newport Beach, it's a gem of cool boutiques and amazing restaurants with a seafront view to die for. The laid-back beach community is the perfect place for our clean, classic staples.
3400 Via Oporto, Building A Suite 101, Newport Beach, CA 92663.

    BEACH TREATS:

Juice Served Here - every self-respecting SoCal neighborhood has a resident juice bar but this one is a cut above the rest. All their juices are
freshly pressed and are sublime. We love their Tropic Thunder.
Lido Village Books - there's nothing more wonderful than browsing your local bookstore and this one happens to be a right treat.
Be warned, you can lose hours in here.
  • Fillmore Street / San Francisco

Centered on 10 tree-lined blocks, and flanked by bustling Japantown and stately Pacific Heights, this urban nook in central SF has some of the best shopping and noshing that the city has to offer.
2130 Fillmore Street, San Francisco, CA 94115

    WHERE TO GO:

Pizzeria Delphina : One of the most popular nosh spots in the hood. There is amazing piatti (small entrees) but the real draw is the pizza, thin crust and charred Neapolitan style. Our fave is the sublime, old school Margherita, and we’ve also been know to finish it off with a Butterscotch Budino.
Fillmore Bakeshop : San Francisco is often called Paris of the West and this tiny spot (just four tables) feels tres francais. Specializing in European sweets, everything is made from scratch and beyond delicious; grab an espresso and a macaron for a mid-shopping break.
SPQR : This award-winning Italian eatery boasts a coveted Michelin star, so it’s no surprise you’ll need a reservation. We love sitting at the Chef’s Counter, where you can literally watch culinary magic happen (and then eat it), but the bar is also a fab spot to end your day with a glass of vino.
  • Nolita / Lower Manhattan

Located just east of Soho, Nolita is tiny in size (just 10 square blocks) but packed with style and charm. With narrow tree-lined streets that look straight out of a movie set, this area is easily walkable and cozy quaint. Bustling with curbside cafes that are perfect for people watching,
eye-catching window displays and gorgeously preserved buildings,
this is a vibrant mix of old-school style meets the freshest in fashion
and the perfect locale for our second NYC outpost.
14 Prince Street, NY NY 10012

    Where to Go:

Cafe Gitane: - A cozy bistro with French-Moroccan specialities.
Come for the couscous and cafe creme, or lounge with a
classic apéritif like a Kir Royal.
Cafe Habana: - New Yorkers have been known to line up at this Nolita mainstay for its grilled corn and traditional Cuban sandwiches.
Little Cupcake Bake Shop: -This corner spot takes sweet to a new level. Get your sugar and caffeine fix with their vanilla bean/espresso
    cupcake topped with mascarpone.
  • Madison Avenue / New York City

The Upper East Side is the perfect blend of NYC's magic mayhem with a classic neighborhood vibe. A stone's throw from Central Park and a mere block away from the Met, it's the place to be and and we're pleased as punch to have our first Manhattan location here.
1133 Madison Ave, NY, NY 10028.

    Neighborhood Eats:

Amaranth - get a street side table and watch the wonderful
world of the UES go by.
E.A.T. - Eli Zabar's amazing salad and sandwich shop. Sublime.
  • GREENWICH / CONNECTICUT

Greenwich is listed as one of the best places to live in the country and we can see why. A short train ride from the center of Manhattan, it feels a million miles away thanks to the gorgeous scenery and great sense
of community. It's also very very good-looking and chock-a-block
full of culture and style. A city after our own heart.
271 Greenwich Ave. Greenwich, CT 06830.

    PUT YOUR FEET UP:

L'Escale - Great cocktails with an insane view of the harbor.
Perfect for a post or pre-shopping visit.

Elm Street Oyster House - The freshest seafood in town and fantastic for people-watching.
Black Forest Pastry Shop - Truly, the one place not to be missed.
A town secret, the pastries are magical.
  • Southampton / New York

They say Paris is always a good idea. We say so is the Hamptons. Summertime doesn't get any better than a day in the beautiful, quaint town of Southampton, wandering about window shopping and then lolling on the beach. A dream come true.
    56 Job's Lane, Southampton, NY 11968.

    Before you hit the beach:

Sant Ambroeous - the best Italian food outside of Manhattan.
Tate's Bake Shop - a Hamptons institution. Their baked
goods are not to be missed.
  • ST. CHRISTOPHER'S PLACE / LONDON

A hop, skip and a jump from Bond Street tube, St Christopher's
Place is not only full of top notch shops, it's also just off the beaten
path so there's an element of peace to the proceedings and it's
home to the prettiest al fresco dining in all of London.
    16-17 St. Christopher's Place, London W1

    Pit Stop:

Carluccio's - A bright and beautiful authentic Italian with outside
dining for when the rain stops and the sun comes out.
Workshop Coffee Co. - The best espresso in the 'hood'.
Great for a grab and go when you're in a hurry.
