Fall 2017: Cool Hunting

Fall 2017: Cool Hunting

Well, it finally happened, we officially slipped into fall on September 22nd. Since we’re based in LA, for us the onset of autumn is when the temps finally start to dip from hot, hot, hot summer to milder, let-me-grab-a-jacket climes. Aside from the undeniable appeal of coats, fall also brings the anticipation of holiday dressing, luxe embroidery detailing and, a perennial favorite, cashmere. Here’s what hot (and cool) right now.

Faux Real
The best thing about fall are jackets that are warm without being bulky (save that for your winter parka). This season, we’re crazy for anything eco-friendly and faux—from a reversible sherpa to sleek suede. Look for a cover-up that is mid-thigh and keep the silhouette sleek by pairing with a skinny denim. Keep details to a minimum with a skinny tie belt like our Ofelia Reversible Lux Sherpa Belted Jacket or make a statement with our leopard print styles such as Calla or Windy.

Better off Red
From a warm vermillion to darker shades of merlot and burgundy, no color commands more attention this season than red. Whether it’s part of an ornate print (like on our Priscilla Poppy Print Mock Neck Dress) or front-and-center in a solid-hued cami, this hot hue adds a dressy element that always sizzles.

Ornate Embroidery
The boho trend is here to stay. Rich embroidery on jackets adds a feminine twist to cool weather classics, while tops like the Jeslyn take on an artisan flair with floral stitch work and beading. Leave your accessories at home, these stand out on their own. Another fave is our Honey Embroidered Velvet Jacket—a gorgeous standout.

Accessory Update
Jewelry takes a bit of a back seat for fall. After a summer of draped necklaces and wrap bracelets, we’re going back to the classics with low-key lariats and chains teamed with a couple of multi-stack rings. Of course, it’s also the perfect time switch out you neon summer manicure for something a little dark and dreamy like our fave Habit Nail Polish in Santa Sangre.

Best Dressed
Frocks are fab for many reasons. First there’s the obvious one-and-done element, but with the holidays approaching, our must-have dresses are crafted with a glam, understated sex appeal in mind. The most flattering are figure skimming with subtle details like ruffled hemlines like the Tenley dress or shirred seaming or a sexy detail like the Bellina.

Sweater Weather
Need we explain our love of cashmere? This knit feels luxurious to the touch and is our fall pick for work-to-weekend. Whether it’s a tomboy style (like our Altheda Cashmere V Neck Sweater) or something that’s a bit more feminine like the single cold shoulder Rory sweater, the genius of cashmere is that its lightweight yet still cozy, making it the perfect layering option under blazers or coats. Add some to your wish list now.
