LA STORIES: EARLY MORNING IN MALIBU

LA STORIES: EARLY MORNING IN MALIBU

If you live in this tiny burb you probably refer to it as “The ‘Bu”, but to the rest of us it’s Malibu. From the iconic Surfrider Beach to the Malibu Pier, it’s truly one of the more spectacular parts of Los Angeles. “I constantly pinch myself that I live here since I recently moved from New York--doing this shoot made me even more grateful for the west coast,” says Jennifer Patryn, who helped us style the looks for LA Stories.

In keeping with the locals, we started early, up with the daily surfers and before the marine layer had burned off for the day. “The feel of the clothes is definitely active and cute but still feminine,” adds Jennifer, who added a vintage hat that she’d picked up at the Rose Bowl flea market, leather slides and a headscarf from her own closet. “All the prints and loose silhouettes gave this a total boho vibe.” Jennifer’s favorite piece from the story is the KEVINE DRESS, for its “throw on and go” appeal. Other beach-approved styles were the BRITT TOP, Cindy SHORTS and MANUKA TEE. Just throw everything in your TRICIA TOTE and meet us at the beach café for a post-surf scramble.
