LA Stories: Silver Lake Weekend

LA Stories: Silver Lake Weekend

Silver Lake feels a bit like the little sister of Venice, just as hip but a bit quieter and the perfect combo of laid-back and on-trend. Packed with Spanish and mid-century architecture that wind along hilly, bougainvillea-framed streets, as well as some of the city’s best restaurants and coffee shops. “For me it feels like the best mix of LA and NY,” says Jen Patryn, our stylist for these LA looks and recent Silver Lake transplant. “I can be at an amazing restaurant for lunch and hiking in the park in the afternoon.”

The looks for this shoot were kept modern but with a nod to monochrome; everything designed to epitomize the indoor/outdoor lifestyle of this eastside enclave. “A lot of the looks were in muted tones like olive or even black and we kept accessories to a minimum,” adds Jen, who added her own headscarf to some of ensembles and snagged a hat and BAG from the Velvet crew. Her Silver Lake staples include a LIGHTWEIGHT COTTON DRESS and LINEN JUMPSUIT. “I always try and pick timeless classics. The jumpsuit could easily go from day to night by just changing up your shoes.” Whether it’s head-to-toe single hue or a little tone-on-tone with our FAVORITE LINEN TANK and WHITE JEANS, you’re ready for the weekend.
